About the Network of Model Schools

The Network of Model Schools is a national project initiated by the Ministry of Education and Research, which aims to transform 90 educational institutions into modern centers by renovating infrastructure and equipping educational spaces with digital equipment and new furniture, as well as improving the learning process. The initiative began in 2023, when 35 schools were selected for the first phase of renovation and modernization.

The estimated budget for the 90 schools is €220 million, of which over €155 million is available from external sources, such as the World Bank, the European Union, the European Investment Bank, the Council of Europe Development Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, and other governments.

The National Partnership ‘Moldova for Education’

The National Partnership “Moldova for Education” is an initiative of the Ministry of Education and Research, under the patronage of the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova, launched in 2024.

The initiative aims to modernize and equip Model Schools to create a high-performing education system and provide better learning conditions for all children. The goal of the partnership is to unite the efforts of the government, the business community, and external partners to modernize education in the Republic of Moldova.
